Problem: Domain User or Administrator is not able to login into domain joined windows server.
Error: “The trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed.”
Solution: Follow below steps on Domain member System(Windows Server) and Domain Controller(AD Node)
Step 1. Login to Windows Server as local Administrator (instead of Domain User)
Step 2 – Change domain settings (1. right click on This PC, 2. click on properties and 3. click on Change Settings)
Step 3 – Click on Change and select “Workgroup”, instead of Domain.
Step 4 – Provide any given name for the “Workgroup”, lets say – “LOCALGROUP”
Step 5 – Login to Active Directory => click on “Active Directory Users and Computers” => then “Computers” OU => then delete the Domain Joined System (having the issue to login – the errored one), in our case “PSM” or “PSMnode”.
Step 6 – Login again to Windows Server as local Administrator (instead of Domain User)
Step 7 – Again, Change domain settings (1. right click on This PC, 2. click on properties and 3. click on Change Settings)
Step 8 – Click on Change
Step 9 – select “Domain”, instead of “Workgroup”.
Step 10 – Provide the “Domain” again, in our example – “praclearn.com”
Step 11 – Provide the Domain “Administrator” credentials (in our case “Abcd1234”)
Step 12 – You got the message “Welcome to the praclearn.com domain”, now let Windows Server restart.
Step 13 – In Active Directory Users and Computers, verify the Node Name (PSM or PSMNode) will appear again.
Step 14 – Bingo!!! Now login as Domain User or Administrator again, it will work
